Everything about the soak
How to use Mgnify, how it's different, where it comes from, and what to know before you soak — answered plainly.
Common questions
What is Mgnify magnesium soak?
Mgnify is a transdermal magnesium chloride soak — undiluted magnesium chloride that you dissolve into a warm bath or foot soak. It's a simple topical ritual, not a pill or a drink.
How is a soak different from magnesium pills or capsules?
Pills are swallowed and taken up through the digestive system. A soak is applied to the skin during a warm bath or foot soak, which many people find a more relaxing way to build a magnesium ritual into the end of the day. Whether topical magnesium absorbs as well as oral magnesium is still being studied — see “Does magnesium really absorb through the skin?” below.
How do I use it?
Add about a quarter cup to a warm bath or foot soak, relax for around 20 minutes, then pat dry. Use a glass or stainless-steel container rather than metal. If your skin is sensitive, start with less and dilute with more water.
Magnesium chloride vs. Epsom salt — what's the difference?
Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate; Mgnify is magnesium chloride. They're different magnesium compounds. Mgnify uses undiluted magnesium chloride rather than a sulfate salt.
Does magnesium really absorb through the skin?
Magnesium is an essential mineral, and transdermal (through-the-skin) magnesium is a popular way to use it — but the scientific evidence on how much absorbs through the skin is still evolving, and we'd rather be honest about that than overpromise. If your goal is to correct a deficiency, a blood test and a conversation with your healthcare provider are the reliable path. For general background, the U.S. National Institutes of Health Office of Dietary Supplements publishes a magnesium fact sheet.
Is a little tingling normal?
Some people notice a light tingling or warmth while they soak. If it feels uncomfortable, use less product, add more water, or rinse off — and stop use if any irritation develops.
Where does the magnesium come from?
Our magnesium chloride is drawn from the ancient Zechstein seabed — a deep mineral deposit that has been sealed underground for millions of years.
Is it safe? Who should check with a doctor first?
Mgnify is a cosmetic bath product, not a medicine, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. If you are pregnant or nursing, have kidney problems, take medication, or have a medical condition, check with your healthcare provider before use. Keep it away from the eyes and broken skin, and keep out of reach of children.
How many soaks do I get per bottle?
At roughly a quarter cup per soak, the 64 oz bottle makes up to about 32 soaks and the 32 oz bottle up to about 16.
How does shipping work?
Shipping is free on orders over $99. Shipping and any applicable taxes are calculated at checkout.
